Let your coding skills take flight! Use your coding skills to take control of a drone, see it fly to see your work in action! (13+ years).
This week in Future Coders class we learned about some amazing Quad Copters. We learned about some of the "coding" that is required for them to even fly. We talked about the similarities about how Karel also has sensors to know where he is (North), and how both Karel and "Drones" can use GPS coordinates... Gyros... the works. And Coders make it all happen! So then we did a little flying too! Notice the kids have spontaneously formed a large human PCY on the blacktop! Good fun!
Scratch programming is easy -- Drone programming is not. Learn to program Drones easily with Scratch using a Scratch Extension developed by Camp K12. Anshul from Camp K12 shows you how to program drones to fly around a room and even do front-flips using just a few lines of Scratch code. [Part 2] of our travel's through Belize with my DJI Phantom 3 Pro and GoPro Hero 4. We made it to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. It was an amazing pay off to save the beautiful beaches, shark diving, golf cart riding and fresh seafood till the end of our Belize adventure. This trip wouldn't have been the same with out the hospitality from our dear friends at Chuck and Robbie's dive shop located just north of the Palapa bar. If you find yourself in San Pedro, please swing by and say hi, let them know you saw them on our video!! We don’t typically go the resort route but a little treasure of an island caught our eye online a few months ago so we decide to try something different. The Hidden Beach is inside a sinkhole located on Marietas Islands. You can get to the the Hidden Beach / Marietas Islands from a few places including Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita and Punta de Mita. From talking to locals we learned that there used to be no restriction on how many people could visit the Hidden Beach per day, unfortunately the beach became trashed with beer cans and carne asada pollution (direct quote from a taxi driver), so the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) put the island on time-out for some cleanup and preservation work. Getting to this beach was challenging on many levels but we made it and it...

I arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia after finishing an amazing Thailand trip. I was excited to be in Cambodia and I've heard many great things about Siem Reap. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world and was built in the 12th Century. Ta Prohm was more recently famous for the Lara Croft Tomb Raider movie and I was excited to check it all out! If you find yourself in Siem Reap and wanna see the town then please hit up my buddy "NGA" (My Tuk Tuk driver in this video). I had thousands of dollars of recording equipment and put all my trust into this kind stranger and he treated me like family and watched out for me and all my stuff. He is an awesome, kind family man that deserves the best!! Tell him Brad from California says hi and say you saw him in my video!! Best of travel...

Height lock sensors automatically maintain altitude, while avoidance sensors quickly steer the drone away from incoming obstacles and focus on exploring. Age: 12+, ...
Someone once asked us "Is Cuba really that colorful or is everyone just using the same Instagram filter?" -- Let me tell you, Cuba is really THAT colorful! With the recent change in relationship between the USA and Cuba, we decide to move this little island up on our travel bucket list in hopes that we could still experience that nostalgic untouched place before it was infiltrated by the Starbuck's and Hilton's of the world. The pictures from Cuba always look vintage no matter what year they are taken in, so setting foot and wandering around these vintage streets in real life was most definitely surreal. We opted for an AirBnb in Vedado as our home-base, the reason being that it would give us a good reason to explore more than the timeworn city center that is Old Havana, and it did! C...
My partner flying the AR Parrot Drone for a test in MatLab using the Optitrack object tracker software. We found out that the graphs are not very clear because of the low marker quality on the Drone. That is a problem that we will fix soon.
